After a season in Barcelona, striker Raphinha may be back in England. That’s because the portal Foot Market disclosed that the Manchester City is interested in relying on the services of the 26-year-old player.
With Al-Ahly getting closer and closer to signing Ryad Mahrez, Pep Guardiola’s team are looking to replace the Algerian athlete. In this way, Raphinha’s name appears among City’s options in the ball market.
The winger would fit the profile that the Spanish coach seeks for the position, being left-handed and having similar characteristics to Mahrez. However, the English would need an advantageous proposal to get him out of Barcelona, which paid 58 million euros for his transfer a year ago.
If the Manchester team’s interest advances to a negotiation, Raphinha may have his second spell in the Premier League. He has already played in the elite of English football when he defended Leeds United between 2020 and 2022.
Under Xavi, Raphinha had good numbers in his first season for Barcelona. The Brazilian scored 10 times and distributed 12 assists in 50 appearances for the Catalans. He was also called up by Tite to compete in the World Cup in Qatar.
