The Portuguese is expected to reappear on Thursday, when the Red Devils take on Arsenal.
Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick downplayed Cristiano Ronaldo’s substitution against Chelsea, in the recent day of the Premier, and said that those decisions seem much greater than they really are.
The Portuguese player had to wait on the bench until leaving in the final twenty minutes of the 1-1 game against Chelsea.
“These kinds of decisions seem much bigger than they really are,” Carrick said at a news conference. “They are taken for many reasons, I don’t think there is any problem.”
“They all took it very well. The game went very well. There is no problem, “he added.
Carrick chose to leave Cristiano among the substitutes to reserve him for the final minutes in which the game was more open. However, the Portuguese came out with United up at Stamford Bridge.
Cristiano is expected to start this Thursday against Arsenal at Old Trafford, in a meeting where Carrick will continue to lead the team waiting for Ralf Rangnick to solve his problems with the work permit. (D)
