Alexander Emelianenko said that for the first time in his life he “did not go on a spree” after the fight
Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Alexander Emelianenko spoke about his stay in a rehabilitation center in Ingushetia. His video message was posted on Instagram (the social network is banned in the Russian Federation; it belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and banned).
“For the first time in my life, I didn’t go on a spree after the fight, but lead a healthy lifestyle, train and draw conclusions,” the athlete said. Emelianenko also explained that he decided to seek help from a rehabilitation center because he realized that he could not cope with the recovery himself.
On June 18, MMA fighter Jeff Monson announced Emelianenko’s health problems after the previous fight. The athlete defeated blogger Yevgeny Ershov at a tournament in Moscow in the 20th second of the second round.
In total, in MMA, 41-year-old Emelianenko won 28 victories and suffered 10 defeats. Another fight with his participation ended in a draw.
