The Congress of the Republic formalized, by insistence, the modification of Law 24686, which creates in each institute of the Armed Forces and Police Forces the Military and Police Housing Fund (Fovipol).
Among the changes introduced by the new law 31826, is the amendment to the article 22. Previously, it only indicated that military and police personnel will be excluded from the contribution to Fovipol, once the amount of the respective home or loan has been paid.
Now it is added that pensionable contributors who have retired without having been benefited by the fund, you can request the return of all your contributions, plus the interest generated. The maximum period for the return of this money will be three months after submitting the application.
The previous norm established that the mandatory contribution of the personnel of the Armed Forces and National Police whether or not they have their own house or land is 5% of their pensionable remuneration. The amendment approved in Congress establishes that the contribution will be 2% of the consolidated pensionable remuneration.
Regarding the contribution of the State, its share is equivalent to 2% of the pensionable remunerations of police and military personnel, which will be included in the respective annual budgets. The new standard indicates that this contribution will be the same percentage but of the consolidated pensionable remuneration.
