O Manchester United announced this Wednesday an important reinforcement for its squad. This is midfielder Mason Mount, who arrived from Chelsea and signed with the Red Devils until June 2028, with an option to renew for another year.
The 24-year-old athlete was presented with the club’s number 7 shirt. The number had been without an owner since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, at the end of 2022. In all, United paid 55 million pounds (about R$ 337 million in current quotations) to rivals to sign Mount.
The excitement is mounting.

The English player spoke about the decision to leave Chelsea and commented on his ambition to win new titles.
βIt’s never easy to leave the club you grew up in, but Manchester United will be an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career. Having competed against them, I know how strong the team I’m joining is and I can’t wait to be part of this group’s effort to win big trophies.”
During his time at Chelsea, Mount made 279 appearances for the team, adding 58 goals and 53 assists. The midfielder was a key part of winning the Champions League in 2021 and was called up by coach Gareth Southgate for the 2022 World Cup.
