The KHL turned to the NHL with a question about the contract status of Ivan Fedotov, who returned from the army
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) turned to the National Hockey League (NHL) because of the contract of CSKA goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov, who returned from the army. It is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the KHL.
“CSKA turned to the KHL with a question about the possibility of registering a contract with goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov. The league has requested information from the NHL regarding the player’s contractual status. It is noted that since the signing of the memorandum with the NHL on mutual respect of contracts, there have been no cases of its violation.
On July 1, Metaratings reported that the hockey player had signed a new agreement with CSKA. However, according to Match TV, until Fedotov settles his relationship with the Philadelphia Flyers NHL club, the KHL will not register his contract with the army team.
In May 2022, Fedotov signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers NHL club. However, in July of the same year, he was detained in St. Petersburg on suspicion of evading military service. After that, the player was sent to serve in the Russian Navy. His contract with Philadelphia was automatically renewed for a year.
