Mourinho banned for four matches in European competition for swearing in the Europa League final
The Disciplinary Committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has punished the head coach of the Italian “Roma” Jose Mourinho. This was reported on the website of the organization.
The reason was the behavior of the coach in the Europa League final, in which the Italians met with the Spanish Sevilla. It is noted that the 60-year-old Portuguese specialist was suspended for four matches in European competition for swearing at the match officials. In addition, the club was fined 50,000 euros.
In the Europa League final, Sevilla were stronger than Roma in the post-match penalty shootout. In regular time, the first goal in the 34th minute was scored by the midfielder of the Romans, Paulo Dybala. In the 55th minute, Sevilla equalized thanks to an own goal from defender Gianluca Mancini.
After the match, Mourinho began to insult the English referee Anthony Taylor in the parking lot of the Puskas Arena stadium. He called it “a fucking disgrace”.
