Doctor Rami Hasheesh says CrossFit can cause back and knee injuries
Physiotherapist Rami Hasheesh revealed the dangers of CrossFit. His words are quoted by Forbes Health.
Hasheesh stated that doing many CrossFit exercises with the wrong form can lead to serious injury. However, he noted that studies show that the risk of injury in CrossFit is no higher than in other types of training.
Among the most common, the specialist named injuries to the arms and legs, as well as the back. Hasheesh explained that shoulder injuries are the result of exercises that involve lifting weights overhead, such as barbells. Back injuries most often occur after performing deadlifts or weighted squats. High jumps and running can cause knee and ankle injuries.
Previously, a sports medicine doctor advised exercises to reduce the risk of running injuries. He called for lunges and side planks.
