This Thursday, Karim Benzema was presented at Al-Ittihad, with the right to a great ceremony, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The club’s fans packed the Al Jawhara Stadium to receive the French striker.
At the event, the 35-year-old athlete displayed the Ballon d’Or, won as a result of his performance in the 2021/22 season, when he helped Real Madrid win the Champions League and the Spanish Championship, finishing as top scorer in both tournaments. The Frenchman will wear shirt number 9 for the Saudi team.
Upon his arrival at the stadium, Benzema was applauded by the fans present. The center forward had his name sung at the venue by the 60,000 fans who attended the venue. “Benzema is here, Benzema is a tiger and Benzema is from Ittihad”, they sang.

Multi-champion, the Frenchman stayed for 14 seasons at the Spanish club. Still, the player stated that he has “a lot of ambition” and hopes to help with his “experience”.
“I won a lot of things in Europe. I arrived here with a lot of ambition and wanting to contribute with my experience, hoping to win many titles and wanting to play to climb the club, even if it’s already very high”, he said.
With a contract until the end of 2026, Benzema will have an annual salary of 100 million euros (approximately R$540 million reais).
