UEFA commented on the possible postponement of the Champions League final from Turkey

UEFA has denied the postponement of the Champions League final of the 2022/2023 season from Istanbul, Turkey

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) commented on the possible postponement of the Champions League final of the 2022/2023 season from Turkey. The organization’s statement is quoted by journalist Rob Harris in Twitter.

UEFA denied the change in venue for the final match of the tournament: “The 2023 Champions League Final will take place in Istanbul as scheduled on June 10, 2023.” The organization noted that they are not conducting any negotiations on this matter.

Earlier, the Daily Mail reported that the final match of the tournament could be moved to Portugal. It was noted that the organizers fear riots due to the upcoming presidential elections in Turkey.

In 2020 and 2021, the Champions League final has already been postponed from Istanbul. Then the coronavirus pandemic became the cause.
