Fitness expert advises choosing flat shoes for strength training

Fitness expert Yulia Gulyaeva explained the rules for choosing training shoes. Her words are quoted by Gazeta.Ru.

Gulyaeva said that for each type of activity you need your own sneakers. For strength or functional training, she advised choosing shoes with a flat and as stable sole as possible. Roll-over running shoes are not suitable for this type of activity, as they do not allow you to control the distribution of weight in the foot.

For step and aerobics, the specialist recommended choosing shoes with maximum cushioning. She noted that such shoes help to reduce the shock load and at the same time fix the foot well.

Gulyaeva added that some types of training involve the absence of shoes. “Moreover, exercise without socks, barefoot, so that the foot can work normally and the movements of the fingers are not limited by anything,” she added.

Earlier, fitness trainer Greg Justice called exercises dangerous to health. He advised against high-intensity interval training, kipping pull-ups and leg presses.
