Lyon even opened the scoring ten minutes into the first half, with Bradley Barcola, but the goal was disallowed by VAR, as the striker was in an offside position. Five minutes later, Strasbourg responded with Morgan Sanson, who shot from inside the area to make it 1-0.
The visitors’ reaction started in the 32nd minute. Castello Lukeba took advantage of the rebound and puffed up the nets to leave everything the same. Four minutes later, Maxence Caqueret received a pass from Brazilian Henrique and turned the match around.
Already in the final additions of the game, at 46 minutes, Castello Lukeba received the second yellow and was expelled from the field, leaving Lyon with ten. However, Strasbourg failed to take advantage of numerical superiority to tie the match.
