In search of a place in the semifinals of the Champions Leagueo Bayern Munchen goes to the field this Wednesday needing a “miracle” at the Allianz Arena. After a 3-0 loss in the first legthe coach of the Bavarian club confirmed that Mané will be on the field.
“We are going to put all our effort on the field. We need a good mix of stadium and fans. We have to light the spark… Sadio (Mané) will be there. Let’s see if he starts playing”, said Thomas Tuchel in an interview conference this Tuesday.
Bayern will try to reverse a clash with three goals down for the first time in their history in the Champions League. The last big comeback that the German club held in the competition was in the 2014/15 season, when they lost 3-1 to Roma and reversed the result in Munich by thrashing the opponent 6-1 in the second leg.
“It’s a very high mountain that we have to climb. We believe in ourselves, but we don’t want to just dream. We are not alone, we have a good team, we have the support. When you look at the top of the mountain, it seems overwhelming. But you have to look step by step. We will try until the end”, declared the coach of Bayern Munich.
Tuchel arrived at the Bavarian club at the end of last month to replace Julian Nagelsmann, sacked due to internal conflicts. Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has already managed Bayern in five games and lost three, one of them being the defeat by City.
“We can’t talk about miracles. But it would be almost a miracle if we did (comeback). If it was 1-1 (in the first leg), everyone would believe. With a 0-3, you have to find a realistic level. In football, everything it’s possible,” added Tuchel.
