Tarasova called the Ukrainian Olympic champion Baiul a fool for calling against the Russians
Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova condemned the 1994 Olympic champion in women’s singles Oksana Baiul for calling on the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to prevent Russian athletes from participating in tournaments. Her words are quoted by Match TV.
Tarasova called the former figure skater an impenetrable fool. “Such a statement can only be explained by a lack of intelligence,” she considered.
Earlier on April 18, Baiul urged the IOC to keep Russians out of the 2024 Olympics in Paris. She stated that Ukrainians are against Russian athletes taking part in competitions even in a neutral status.
The Paris Olympic Games are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The decision on the admission of Russians to the competition has not yet been made.
