Bayern Munich loses to Freiburg and is eliminated from the German Cup

In his second match as Bayern coach, Tuchel had a more complicated test than on Saturday, when his team secured the victory with three goals in 23 minutes – with a clamorous failure of the goalkeeper Gregor Kobel in the goal that opened the scoring – in a duel worth the leadership of the Bundesliga against Borussia Dortmund.

Eintracht Frankfurt advance

Earlier, with two goals in less than two minutes, Frenchman Randal Kolo Muani led Eintracht Frankfurt to the semifinals by defeating Union Berlin 2-0.

At the Waldstadion, in Frankfurt, Eintracht showed their most effective side, opening the scoring in the 11th minute. After a back-heel pass from Mario Gotze, Kolo Muani left visiting goalkeeper Lennard Grill no chance.

Less than two minutes later, Gotze provided another assist for Kolo Muani who scrambled past Grill to score his 19th goal of the season for Eintracht – as well as 12 decisive passes – in all competitions, his fifth in the German Cup.

The player who played in the final of the last World Cup with France’s shirt had already scored twice and provided an assist against Darmstadt, leaders of the second division, in the previous phase (4-2 victory).

Eintracht, five times German Cup champions, advance to the semi-finals in a season in which they have stagnated in the Bundesliga, with just three points from their last five games, six below fourth place – the last to qualify for the Champions League – at the moment. in which there are eight rounds left to play.
