Ural president Ivanov doesn’t know if Vlut’s jail term will affect his contract

The president of Ural, Grigory Ivanov, spoke about the sentencing of the club’s Dutch legionnaire Ray Vlut, who received 2.5 years in prison. It is reported by Sport24.

The functionary noted that he did not know whether the player would appeal. “Will this situation affect Ray’s contract with Ural? The news came out only today, we didn’t even have time to talk. I will definitely talk to him, ”Ivanov said.

Vlutu was sentenced by a Haarlem court earlier on April 3. The 27-year-old legionnaire of the Russian Premier League club (RPL) was absent from the sentencing, he is at the location of Ural.

In November 2021, in the Dutch city of Hoofddorp, Vloet, while intoxicated, became a member of an accident in which a four-year-old child died. According to prosecutors, the player was driving at a speed of 203 kilometers per hour and did not try to avoid a collision with another car. Initially, the athlete’s friend, who was in the passenger seat, took the blame, but Vloet later admitted that he was driving.

Vloot moved to Ural in the summer of 2022. This season, he has played nine matches in the RPL and scored three goals. The football player’s contract with Yekaterinburg is valid until December 31, 2024.
