Bournemouth announce renewal with Brazilian goalkeeper Neto until 2026

Bournemouth announced this Monday the renewal with goalkeeper Neto. The Brazilian, who only had a contract with the club until the end of June, extended his contract until the middle of 2026. The 33-year-old player was happy with the extension of his time at the club.

“I’m really happy. I’d like to thank the supporters for the reception I’ve had since I arrived. It’s been unbelievable. We’ll give 100% to make sure we stay in the Premier League now and always do our best,” he said.

Team captain, Neto arrived at Bournemouth in mid-2022. The goalkeeper was looking for more game time, as he was in Barcelona’s reserve. The athlete had hopes of being called up for the Qatar World Cup.

In all, Neto made 18 appearances for the English team and became one of the main names in the squad. Currently, Bournemouth are in the fight not to be relegated. The team is in 19th place in the Premier League, with 24 points.

Revealed by Athletico-PR, the Brazilian went to Europe at an early age. Neto had spells at Fiorentina, Juventus, Valencia and Barcelona before moving to English football.
