Medvedev said that the issuance of Fan ID in Russia is acquiring completely absurd forms
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, proposed changing the system for issuing a Fan ID card. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“If during the World Cup it was at least clear that we were talking about ensuring global security, now it is taking on completely absurd forms,” the politician said.
Medvedev also said that he was aware of the case of a family of fans not being allowed to attend a Russian Premier League (RPL) match due to the lack of a Fan ID for a seven-month-old child. He called this situation a mockery.
The State Duma adopted the law on Fan ID in December 2021. To enter the stands for RPL matches, each fan must have a personalized spectator card, which was previously impossible to issue remotely.
