Boxer Tim Tszyu defeated Harrison and won the interim WBO world title

Australian boxer Tim Tszyu has won the interim World Boxing Organization (WBO) light middleweight title. This was reported on the tournament website.

The athlete, who is the son of the former absolute world champion Kostya Tszyu, defeated the American Tony Harrison by technical knockout in the ninth round. The fight took place in Sydney.

On January 28, Tim Tszyu was supposed to meet with American Jermell Charlo, but the fight was postponed indefinitely due to an injury to the latter. Athletes had to compete for the championship belts of the World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF), WBO and WBA Super, which Charlo currently holds.

Tim Tszyu won 22 victories in his professional career (15 of them by knockout) and did not suffer a single defeat. Harrison now has 29 wins (21 by knockout), five losses and one draw.
