UFC chief White called Jon Jones the best competing fighter in the promotion
The head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White, praised the victory of the American Jon Jones in the fight for the title of the champion of the promotion. His words are quoted by the official YouTube channel of the UFC.
“Jon Jones, he’s incredible. He is undefeated. I’m happy with what happened tonight. He went into the octagon and treated Gan like a small child,” White said. He called the American the best of the competing fighters.
Earlier on March 5, Jones defeated Frenchman Cyril Gan via submission in the first round at UFC 285 in Las Vegas. For the American, this fight was the first after a three-year break in his career, which began in February 2020.
In total, in MMA, Jones won 27 victories and suffered one defeat. Another fight with his participation was declared invalid. The only loss of an athlete in the UFC happened in December 2009. Then he was disqualified for illegal elbow strikes. Ghana has 11 wins and two losses.
