Dana White says former UFC champion Francis Ngannou will never return to the promotion

The head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White, spoke about the possible return to the promotion of former champion Francis Ngannou. His words are quoted by the YouTube channel BT Sport.

“We have been negotiating with Ngannou for several years. This is the end! He will never fight in the UFC again. Yes, I never say never, but this time I will. We tried,” White said.

Ngannou’s departure from the UFC became known on January 15. The athlete refused to renew the agreement, which was designed for two years and made him the highest paid heavyweight in the history of the organization. Later, the athlete announced that he would definitely return to mixed martial arts, but first he plans to fight according to the rules of boxing.

Ngannou won the championship belt against American Stipe Miocic in March 2021. In January 2022, he defended his title for the first time, defeating the Frenchman Cyril Gan, after which he did not enter the octagon due to knee surgery. Ngannou has been with the UFC since 2015. In total, during his career he won 17 victories and suffered three defeats.
