Daria Trafankowska was born on January 5, 1954 in Poznań and came from an artistic family. At her father’s insistence, she began studying at the Acting Department of the Film, Television and Theater School in Łódź. The actress approached her work in a professional manner. Many viewers remembered her from the role of the always smiling nurse in “For Good and for Bad”. She was called “Duśka” or “Mother of God Trafankowska” by her closest circle, because she always showed great empathy and helped others in need. They were perfect for each other, but their paths eventually diverged. Shortly before his death, a letter to his ex-girlfriend, to which Trafankowska did not manage to reply. The man committed suicide at the age of 25. A few days later, Daria found out she was pregnant. Hanna Karolak in the book “Duśka. The Tale of Daria Trafankowska” wrote:
The moving, emotional tone of this letter was quite puzzling. It was difficult to understand what is the cause of the author’s breakdown. Duśka wanted to write back right away, but she was preoccupied with pre-premiere emotions, so she postponed the answer to ‘later’. But there was no ‘after’. A few days after the premiere of The Brothers Karamazov, she overheard two colleagues talking in the dressing room. They talked about the suicide of a young actor. […] His spectacular death on New Year’s Eve shocked Duśka.
She was the first great love of Waldemar Dziki. They made a perfect couple, but they were very different
Soon after, Daria met the director, Waldemar Dziki. When the young student saw Daria Trafankowska, he was completely lost, it was love at first sight. Apparently, it was then that he decided to marry her. So it happened, they got married before they graduated from college. The actress told the author of the book “Duśka”:
For a few weeks we went for walks, watched movies, until one day I took my pillow from the dorm and moved in. For all 15 years…
Although they were considered to be an extremely compatible couple, in reality they were very different. They had a different outlook on art, life, housing and meetings with friends. Their son Witt was born in 1980. However, a long and harmonious marriage was not destined for them. The actress tried to make concessions, but when she realized that she would not be able to meet her husband’s requirements, she gave up. Even though she still loved him dearly, she stopped fighting for their love and just let him go. The couple divorced after 15 years of marriage. Daria Trafankowska treated it as a personal failure. She believed that marriage was something forever. Even though she had forgiven Wild for betrayal many times, she lived in the hope that one day he would come back to her. A few years after the separation of Trafankowska and Dziki, Małgorzata Foremniak appeared in his life. She learned from her son that her ex-husband was going to marry the then 30-year-old actress. When they met, the actress loved her like a sister and reciprocated. They met almost every day on the set of the series “For Good and Bad”, where both played for many years. Daria Trafankowska said:

After six months, Jan asked her to marry him. The actress could forget all other worries and it would seem that fate smiled at her.
In one day, my whole life was ruined. She had one dream
In 2003, Daria Trafankowska suddenly heard a devastating diagnosis. The actress was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In the face of tragic information, she confessed that she does not intend to give up the love that suddenly appeared in her life. In one of the interviews, she revealed that she was getting ready for the wedding and would not abandon her wedding plans.

Until the last days of her life, she appeared on the set of “For Good and Bad” and looked optimistically into the future. The star kept information about her deteriorating condition a secret from viewers and family. She died on April 9, 2004 at the age of only 50, and the last months of her life were marked by great love with Janwho was with her to the end.
