Born in Göppingen, Germany, Jurgen Klinsmann was a player and wore the shirts of Inter, Monaco, Tottenham and Bayern Munchen. For the German national team, he participated in the 1990 World Cups (champion), 1994 and 1998, having scored 47 goals.
In his coaching career, Klinsmann led Germany to the 2006 World Cup and reached third place in the tournament. Then he went through Bayern Munich, the US national team and his last job was at Hertha Berlin, in 2019/2020.
South Korea is looking for another foreign coach to take over the national team. Dutchman Guus Hiddink took over the national team between 2001 and 2002, and recently Portuguese Paulo Bento led Korea at the World Cup in Qatar.
“I am honored to follow in the footsteps of the great coaches who led the Korean national team, from Gus Hiddink to my predecessor, Paulo Bento,” declared Jurgen Klinsmann.
