Xiaomi announces gesture-enabled augmented reality headset
The Chinese company Xiaomi has announced Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition augmented reality glasses. It is reported by the publication Pocket-lint.
The device is made in the form factor of conventional glasses, it has a magnesium-lithium alloy body with carbon fiber elements. The weight of the gadget is 126 grams. The glasses released by Xiaomi received three sets of interchangeable optics and lenses for nearsighted users. The wearable device is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 processor and needs to be connected to any smartphone with a Snapdragon chip to work.
The glasses are equipped with MicroOLED screens with a brightness of up to 1200 nits, which display information. According to representatives of the corporation, the equipment allows you to display information in augmented reality on top of other items. The company noted that for the best immersion and interaction with the outside world, the glasses have high detail. Also, the headset has support for gesture control.
Xiaomi noted that users will be able to instantly transfer content – for example, from a smartphone or TV screen – to glasses screens. With gestures, you can adjust its size, as well as interact with smart home devices running on the Xiaomi platform. The timing of the release of Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition on sale and its cost are not disclosed.
In August 2022, Xiaomi introduced Mijia Glasses Camera smart glasses. The device received the function of recording video and translating voice into text.
