This Friday, Uefa defined the confrontations of the round of 16 of the Europa League, which will take place between March 9 and 16. Pot 1 featured the teams that came first in the group stage of the competition: Arsenal, Betis, Fenerbahçe, Ferencváros, Feyenoord, Freiburg, Real Sociedad and Union Saint-Gilloise.
Pot 2 was composed of clubs that were in the Round of 16 stage, that were third in the Champions League group stage or second in the Europa League: Juventus, Leverkusen, Manchester United, Roma, Sevilla, Shakhtar, Sporting and Union Berlin.
It is worth remembering that the only block in the draw was between teams from the same country, which will only be able to face each other from the next phase of the competition. The duels of the quarterfinals will be defined on March 17th.
