The game

Liverpool started the match trying to take danger in the long balls. After 10 minutes, Alexander-Arnold launchesor Darwins Núñez, who shot the ball and opened the scoring for visitors.

Seven minutes later, Gakpo doubled Liverpool’s lead to 2-0. In Salah’s pitch, the Dutchman received Pope face-to-face and did not waste the chance.

If the negative result wasn’t enough, Newcastle still had their goalkeeper expelled at 22. Pope left the area and held the ball, after a counterattack pulled by Salah. With that, the referee had no doubts and showed the player a red card.

In the second half, Liverpool tried to control the game more and manage their advantage. With that, Newcastle’s best chance in the second half was when Wilson came face to face with Alisson, in the 37th minute. The Brazilian goalkeeper closed the angle well and prevented the home team’s goal.
