Valentina, the mother of the Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov, denied the data on the amputation of the athlete’s hands. Her words are quoted by the SHOT Telegram channel.
“Half of what they write now is not true. We will not give any new information for now. There is a time for everything, ”the woman reacted to the news.
On February 14, KP.RU, citing a source in medical circles, stated that Kostomarov had undergone a second operation and amputated both hands. At the same time, the Mash Telegram channel reported that the doctors managed to stop the infection in time and the athlete removed several fingers on his hands.
On February 7, the skater had his left foot amputated. Later it became known that doctors were afraid for the condition of Kostomarov’s right leg and were doing everything possible to save it, despite the tissue dying off.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia in combination with influenza B.
