Celine Dion, 54, posted a shocking video on Instagram last December in which she revealed she had been diagnosed with an incurable disease. The artist suffers from a neurological disease, commonly known as “stiff man syndrome”. The disease causes stiffening of the whole body, which makes it impossible for the artist to sing.
Sister Celine Dion talks about her health condition
The artist has not commented on this subject since the recording was published. The latest information about the singer’s health was revealed by her older sister, 74-year-old Claudette Dion. In an interview with the Canadian tabloid “Le Journal de Montreal” she said that the singer is currently in a professional clinic in Denver, USA, and the best doctors are working on her recovery:
She is surrounded by specialists. (…) Instead of crying over her fate, I try to give her positive vibes and assure her that one day she will come out on stage
“I believe that life will give her back what she has given,” she said hopefully about her sister. She also added that the singer is “an extremely intelligent woman, very generous, talented, who loves life.” However, she did not say whether the therapy is currently making progress. “Stiff man syndrome” is only treated symptomatically, trying to alleviate the pain experienced by the patient.
