The coach slapped the player. Surprising reaction. “Come back. I’ll follow the coach”

A few days ago we reported that during the match for the Championship of the Silesian Junior Junior Volleyball there was a scandal involving the coach of Norwid Częstochowa, Piotr Lebioda. During the meeting with AZS Częstochowa, with the score 7:7, the coach pulled one of the volleyball players off the court, later giving him a verbal reprimand. However, no one expected that she would decide to hit him. Cameras recorded the situation and the network began to boil. The club also reacted, which decided to remove the coach from running the team.

The players stand up for the coach. “Do not look for sensation in our house”

On Sunday, February 12, the portal miejska.tv interviewed the player injured in the entire incident. According to him, the coach did not do anything wrong. “I know in the video it looks like he hit me with a lot of force, but it really wasn’t. He slapped me lightly and said “heads up, come on, come on, let’s play!”, motivational stuff like that. I can’t say anything bad about him,” he said.

Another norwid player has a similar opinion about Lebioda. – 13 people from our team do not live in Częstochowa, we live in a dormitory. The coach cares for us and takes care of us. It is safe to say that he is our protector. You can tell him anything and he will always help us as much as he can – said Szymon Kupciw.

Norwid’s players resent the media for not showing the whole truth. A dozen or so seconds after the incident, Lebioda approached the hit student and high fived him. – This whole situation shows how much our media seeks sensationalism – commented Kupciw. The material was posted on Twitter by the journalist of miejjska.tv, Sebastian Zielonka.

Volleyball players gave a lot of support to the coach after the last match with Jastrzębski Węgiel (3:0). They posted a photo on social media showing the great joy of the victory. One of the players held a white T-shirt in his hands with the inscription: “Come back coach! Do not look for sensations in our house!!!”. After the match, the juniors put on similar T-shirts, but this time the message was: “I’m all for the coach!”. The photo also shows the victim of the incident from a few days ago. Students indicated that these actions were their sovereign decision and no one had any influence on them.

After the matter was publicized, the Norwid Częstochowa club removed Lebioda from working with the team, but it is possible that the reaction of the players will speed up the clarification process and the coach will be able to accompany them again during the meetings.
