This Sunday, the Lyon received Lens, for the 23rd round of the French Championship, and won by 2 to 1. Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring for the home team, Deiver Machado left everything the same and Rayan Cherki gave the victory to the hosts.
With the favorable result, Lyon reaches 35 points and is in ninth place, six points from the G5. Lens, on the other hand, loses space among the leaders of the championship and has 46 points, in fourth place. Now, eight points separate the team from leader Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Lyon’s next commitment is against Auxerre, away from home, on Friday, at 5 pm (Brasília time). Lens will face Nantes, at home, on Sunday, at 13:05. Both duels are valid for the 24th round of the French Championship.
The match started well balanced, with both teams creating chances and sharing possession of the ball. However, Lyon were more efficient and opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, through Alexandre Lacazette. Even so, the unfavorable partial result did not shake Lens, who insisted and sought a tie with Deiver Machado, in the 39th minute.
The second stage followed with a lot of balance on the field. But, once again, efficiency favored Lyon, who took the lead again with Rayan Cherki, in the 19th minute. Needing to score, Lens controlled more possession of the ball and tried to pressure the opponent in the final stretch, but failed to break the tie.
