The Geophysical Institute (IG), of the National Polytechnic School, reported that on the afternoon of this Sunday, February 12, an earthquake of magnitude 2.8 was registered in the province of Pichincha.

The depth of this telluric movement was three kilometers and the epicenter was located 10.41 kilometers from the city of Quito.
That is, it is presumed that it may be close to one of the valleys of the Metropolitan District of Quito.
The tremor was felt at 3:58 p.m., according to the Geophysicist.

Citizens both north and south of the capital reported having felt the telluric movement.
However, the majority of users who commented on this movement were from Valle de los Chillos. Apparently, in this area the tremor was felt with greater force, although the magnitude was not so high, according to the first report of the IG.
