Another Juventus scandal. Call recordings leaked. Some are shocking

Juventus have been going through a very difficult time recently. The team led by Massimiliano Allegre was penalized 15 points in January for concealing huge losses in its financial statements. This is not the end of the problems. Another 20 points may disappear from the team’s achievements, and all because of breaching contracts with players. To make matters worse, another scandal related to the 36-time champions of Italy has come to light.

Videos of Juventus activists leaked. “We have thrown away 60-70 million euros”

These are telephone recordings of Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini, which are full of critical words about the management of the club. “Our worst players earn as much as the best in Atalanta. Zapata has 1.8 million euros per season. We would buy a dog and give him 3.5 million euros,” he said, quoted by the portal “Corriere della Sera”.

He also criticized his predecessor, Fabio Paratici, for signing, among others, Gonzalo Higuain. “We were too arrogant in the transfer market. Fabio bought Higuain for €90 million. Fabio five years ago would have taken Gabriel Jesus for €10 million and sold him for €90 million,” the club’s sports director said.

The recordings also contain a statement from the club’s president, Andrea Agnelli, about the club’s expenses. “If we look at the period from 2010, when I arrived, to today, in the last three days of windows we have done crap, we have thrown away 60-70 million euros,” he said.

The deduction of league points cost Juventus a drop in the Serie A table. Allegre’s players are currently in 10th place with 26 points. Napoli leads (56 points) ahead of Inter Milan (43 points) and AC Milan (41 points).
