Ovechkin included in the top ten players in NHL history

The Athletic named Alexander Ovechkin one of the top 10 players in NHL history

The Athletic has named Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin one of the top 10 players in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL). The list is presented on the publication’s website.

The Russian took sixth place in the ranking. Canada’s Wayne Gretzky topped the list, followed by his compatriots Mario Lemieux and Bobby Orr in second and third. Czech Jaromir Jagr and Canadian Sidney Crosby were also in the top five.

Ovechkin is the second-best scorer in NHL history. On account of his 812 goals. Gretzky leading the list is 82 goals behind. Earlier, the Canadian refused to consider the pursuit of his record as the main event in Ovechkin’s career.

Ovechkin has been playing in the NHL since 2005. He spent all seasons in North America with Washington. Together with the club, the hockey player won the Stanley Cup in 2018.
