With Al-Hilal’s classification of the Flamengo in the Club World Cup, players from the winning club will earn a financial bonus for their achievement. Businessman Al-Waleed Bin Talal Alsaud offered one million Saudi riyals (R$ 1.37 million at current exchange rates) for each athlete in the squad if they reached the final, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, from CBS Sports.

That would not have been the billionaire’s only promise to the Riyadh team. If Al-Hilal wins the competition’s unprecedented title, Al-Waleed promised to give over one million Saudi riyals to the team’s players. Ramón Díaz’s men will face, next Sunday, the winner of the duel between Al Ahly and Real Madrid.
Al-Waleed is one of the most influential names in Saudi Arabia. A member of the country’s Royal House, the businessman is among the richest men in the world, according to Forbes, occupying the 41st position in the magazine’s 2016 ranking. His fortune is estimated at more than 17 billion dollars (R$ 88 billion).
