O Real Madrid is close to debuting on Club World Cup, in Morocco. The Spaniards enter the field this Thursday to face Al-Ahly, from Egypt, in the semifinal of the tournament. Ancelotti, coach of the team, commented on the absence of the team and did not stop praising his opponent.
Al-Ahly reached the semifinals after defeating the United States’ Seattle Sounders 1-0 in their World Cup debut. Real Madrid, on the other hand, has yet to play in the competition.
“It’s a club that has a great history, one of the most important in world football. It has a good organization with qualified players and it will be a competitive game. They have the same desire to win as we do. Like everyone else, we have a lot of respect for them and especially for a club with a very important history in African football,” said Ancelotti.

For the semifinal duel, Real Madrid will not have striker Karim Benzema, defender Éder Militão and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. The three are injured and did not travel with the rest of the squad to Morocco. However, they are written and can recover in time for an eventual final, as reported by the team commander.
“The three are on the list, which means they can recover. We’ll see. We prefer to leave them in Madrid to follow the most appropriate treatment. We’ll see if they’re prepared for Saturday’s game”, explained the coach.
Real Madrid and Al-Ahly face each other this Thursday, at 4 pm (BrasÃlia time), at PrÃncipe Moulay Abdellah Stadium, in the city of Rabat. The team that emerges victorious will face the winner of Flamengo and Al-Hilal in the final of the Club World Cup.
