Last December, Ayrton Preciado had expressed his desire to return to Emelec, and even indicated that there would be no problem on the economic issue.

To this was added Dante Elizalde, executive president of the Santos Laguna de Torreón team, who had indicated that the Ecuadorian soccer player is in negotiations to leave the team and that the leadership has given him a free hand to do so.
“Ayrton intends to leave; we agree with it. He is trying to resolve this situation and we are going to give him all the facilities so that it can happen,” Elizalde mentioned at a press conference.
Eduardo Fentanes, coach of Santos Laguna, had also admitted that the Ecuadorian was in talks with the Aztec board to terminate his contract.
“Ayrton has not joined 100%; It is a reality and I know that he is in talks with the board (for his possible departure). I get that far ”, he said.
However, the coach now left open the possibility that the Ecuadorian remain in the Torreón team.
“If he stays, is eligible and healthy, as he has let you know, trains at par and earns a place, he will be welcome to the team,” said the coach.
“I don’t know the current status of the injury, I have a couple of weeks, since I haven’t had an update and I couldn’t really tell you what we’re up to, we’ll have to ask and see how this situation regarding Preciado is resolved,” concluded Fentanes. (D)
