Stanley Cup winner Hasek called the participation of the Russians in the NHL All-Star Game disgusting
Olympic champion, two-time Stanley Cup winner Dominik Hasek Twitter spoke about the participation of Russians in the All-Star Game of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The athlete refused to consider the match a holiday and called the presence of Russian hockey players in the event disgusting advertising. He criticized the Czech media for their coverage of the match, believing that it contributed to Russian propaganda.
The NHL All-Star Game took place on February 4. Ten Russian hockey players took part in it. In particular, the captain of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin, together with his son Sergei, performed a bullet.
In October 2022, Hasek called for NHL executives to resign over their stance on Russia. He said that league commissioner Gary Bettman and his deputy Bill Daley showed disrespect to the Czech Foreign Ministry by allowing Russian players to play in Prague for NHL pre-season games.
