Ekstraklasa: Raków Częstochowa adds three points after the match with Piast. It was a bizarre goal

The favorites of the clash were the players of Raków Częstochowa and they controlled the course of the match in the first half. Piast Gliwice failed to have a single shot on target and only had possession of the ball for 36 percent of the time. Players from Częstochowa lacked efficiency and it seemed that the first part would end with a goalless result. In the 40th minute, luck smiled on Marek Papszun’s team and the ball fell into the net. Ivi Lopez crossed the ball into the penalty area, one of his colleagues played the ball in front of the goal, and after a lot of confusion and a shot by Vladislavs Gutkovskis it became 1:0. Piast player Jakub Czerwiński touched the last ball and scored an own goal.

In the second 45 minutes, the visiting players changed their style of play and began to make tougher conditions for their rivals. They spent much more time with the ball and created goal chances. However, they were unable to use any of them and only once did they hit the goal of Vladan Kovacevic on target. Raków did not make a single shot on target and hoped to keep the score. Coach Marek Papszun made five substitutions, coach Aleksandar Vuković changed three players, but the result of the match did not change. Raków won modestly and strengthened its first place in the Ekstraklasa table.
