(Video) Kaviedes became a national idol for the score he made against Uruguay to classify the Tricolor for their first World Cup event.
Gonzalo Plata is the center of attention in the Ecuadorian team due to the football quality he has shown in the games he faced in the qualifying rounds for Qatar 2022 and Copa América, and at Real Valladolid in Spain. His talent is compared to the one remembered Nine Jaime Iván Kaviedes, who scored the goal to classify the Tricolor for their first World Cup event (South Korea and Japan 2002).
Silver’s figure grew last Saturday by scoring a great goal in Valladolid’s 3-1 victory against Mirandés, on matchday 15 of the Spanish second division. A goal that was compared to the Chilean Kaviedes scored with the same team at FC Barcelona 20 years ago in La Liga.
The Nine Kaviedes converted the goalkeeper Richard Dutruel, among the defenders the Spanish Carles Puyol and the Dutchman Franck de Boer. Silver’s goal was with an accurate left-foot shot from outside the area, which dug into the corner.
“In Valladolid we have already experienced other great goals with an Ecuadorian stamp. Kaviedes ”, published the Valladolid in his account of Twitter as statistical data.
Given this, Jaime Iván commented on the radio round: “It could be Gonzalo Plata (the one with my soccer qualities), but anyone can reach a high level, as long as he dedicates himself to practice and is persevering. The secret in soccer is to train, train and train to make this sport easier on the field ”.
Regarding the best goal he scored in his career, Kaviedes recalled: “The one I remember the most is the history I scored to qualify for the 2002 World Cup (in a 1-1 draw against Uruguay), because of what it means to everyone. For me, and from my heart I say it, the one that I liked the most is one that I converted from a free kick with Barcelona, similar to one that I had done in Spain with the National Team ”.
“Pressure should not exist when there is responsibility. For me to define (when I was a professional) a lot of things happened to me; to make the hats I played on stone courts, where the ball bounces a lot, and to score I had to take advantage of those piques (…). Sometimes how you play is how you live, it was said at some point in the National Team, ”concluded the former Emelec striker, who was the world’s top scorer with 43 annotations in 1998.
The only annotation of the Nine in a World Cup it was in Germany 2006. It sealed the triumph of the Tricolor 3-0 against Costa Rica to qualify for the first time to the round of 16 in that competition, the same one that is part of one of the best celebrations in the highest event.
The celebration was with a mask of Spider-Man to pay tribute to Otilino Tenorio, who had died in a traffic accident in May 2005. (D)
