Lewandowski’s great comeback. A goal and an extremely important victory for Barcelona

It was the 65th minute of the match. FC Barcelona were better than the hosts, but they were struggling and couldn’t score. It looked like they could win 1-0 at best in their fourth league game in a row. Then the leader of the Primera Division had a counterattack. After the foul, Frenkie de Jong did not wait for the opponents to line up, but intelligently, quickly took the free kick. He passed to Alejandro Balde on the left side, who ran into the penalty area, passed the defender and brilliantly scored on the third meter to Raphinha, who shot into the empty net.

A quarter of an hour later, FC Barcelona increased the score after Robert Lewandowski’s goal. The Polish striker was great in the penalty area after a corner kick. Ronald Araujo played the ball with his head, Lewandowski took it on the sixth meter

Finally Lewandowski is back

The event of the match was, of course, the return to the game of Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker was suspended for a red card in the away match against Osasuna. Lewandowski did not play against Atletico Madrid, Getafe and Girona. All FC Barcelona won 1-0.

In the first half, it was not a successful comeback for Lewandowski. There was a pause in the game, lack of proper feeling of the game and accuracy in the moves. In this part, he had as many as seven losses and not a single good chance to score. The Polish striker showed class anyway. He could have had an assist. In the 41st minute, he brilliantly headed the ball to Gavi, but his shot from eleven meters was blocked.

Despite Lewandowski’s weaker disposition, FC Barcelona could enjoy a goal in a good, fast-paced first half. In the 18th minute, the guests performed a beautiful action. Raphinha brilliantly passed between the legs to Pedri in the penalty area, he was alone with the goalkeeper, but he unnecessarily tried to pass him and the rival caught the ball. A quarter of an hour later, the Brazilian headed into the net, but the referee blew his whistle for offside. And all in all, that would be enough when it comes to FC Barcelona’s offensive. Xavi’s team held the ball longer (65-35%), but little came of it.

The hosts in the first half tried to surprise the defense of FC Barcelona with a counterattack. They came closest to a goal in the tenth minute. Luiz Henrique shot from five meters but was blocked. Kounde’s sacrificial intervention probably saved the Primera Division leader in the 32nd minute, when Canales shot from twelve meters.

After only 180 seconds of the second half, the visitors could take the lead. Balde, chosen as the best player of the match, played brilliantly on the left side, passed his rival, passed for twelve meters to Pedri, who hit hard, but Rui Silva saved it well. Then FC Barcelona finally got what we wrote above. She took control of the field until the end of the game. She started playing nervously after the 85th minute, when Kounde directed the ball into her own goal in a harmless situation.

FC Barcelona is already eight points ahead of Real Madrid after this win. The Spanish champions will play their overdue match on Thursday. They will face Valencia at home. The meeting starts at 21.
