From January 2 to January 29, almost 20 million people became infected with coronavirus in the world, more than 114 thousand died. The number of deaths increased by 65% ​​compared to the previous 28 days, the number of infections decreased by 78%, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) .

According to the data given in the WHO fact sheet, 19,955,978 cases of infection and 114,372 deaths were registered in the world in four weeks.

In 28 days, the most cases were detected in China – 11,354,058. Followed by Japan (3,207,097), the United States (1,513,538), the Republic of Korea (1,032,801) and Brazil (459,986). China recorded the most deaths from January 2 to January 29, with 62,759, followed by the US (14,625), Japan (10,122), the UK (3,137) and Brazil (2,889).

As of February 1, WHO has received 753,651,712 reported cases of coronavirus since the start of the pandemic and 6,813,845 deaths. Over the past day, 157,092 cases of infection have been detected, 720 people have died.
