George Clooney bravely about youth: I had half my face paralyzed

Host in the special “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” presented a lot of material from the beginning of his show, and also spiced up the show with references to the teenage years of George Clooney and Snoop Dogg. At one point, he showed photos of the actor from when he was 13 and 15 years old. The audience roared with laughter, but Clooney reacted quickly.

George Clooney explained why he had an unusual smile

Thirteen-year-old George had his mother’s haircut, and the photograph shows his ponytail. However, in the photo from the time when he was 15, attention was drawn to his smile, where the corners of the mouth were not arranged symmetrically. At this point, Clonney revealed why he looked like this, completely changing the mood that prevailed during the show:

Now wait, I want to tell you something, because you’re about to start making jokes. I had Bell’s palsy at the time and half of my face was paralyzed

However, after a moment of reflection, the conversation turned cheerful again. Clooney did not talk about his illness anymore, but a few years ago the actor’s father spoke about the details of his condition. Clooney had a semi-paralyzed face for several weeks, and the scars of the disease persisted for three months. Young George apparently wasn’t worried about it at the time and tried to make fun of his illness.

The cause of Bell’s palsy is unknown. The symptoms of facial nerve palsy include weakness or paralysis of the facial muscles on one side, which can be seen as drooping of the eyebrows, corner of the mouth, and eye failure. In most cases, Bell’s palsy resolves on its own without leaving a trace.
