Moscow’s Kuntsevo Court has arrested Russian mixed-style (MMA) fighter Salman Dzhamaldaev in a drug case. Reported by RIA Novosti.
The athlete will be detained for one month and 30 days, until January 6. He faces imprisonment for a term of three to ten years under the Criminal Code article on illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture or processing of narcotic drugs on a large scale.
Dzhamaldaev’s detention became known on November 8. The Chechen fighter was unable to fly to Grozny, as during the search he was found to have a prohibited substance. A criminal case was opened against him for drug trafficking. Later it turned out that a minor teenager involved in the transportation and delivery of drugs directed the police at the athlete.
Jamaldaev is a fighter of the Akhmat club and a former champion of the WFCA and ACB promotions in featherweight. On account of his 20 wins and two defeats in fights according to the rules of MMA.
