Nainggolan returns to Italian football, where he had a remarkable spell at Roma. In 203 games for the capital team, the Belgian scored 33 goals and distributed 28 assists. The athlete has always been seen as a controversial figure and was adored by the Romanista fans in the years he played there, between 2014 and 2018.

The midfielder also had a short spell at Inter Milan before being loaned to Cagliari. The player also played for the Belgium national team and even caused discussions for smoking in the locker room.
Now at SPAL, Nainggolan will have a complicated mission ahead of him: helping the club return to Serie A. Currently in 15th position, the team’s coach is a former teammate of the Belgian at Roma: midfielder and idol Danielle De Rossi.
