Russian President Vladimir Putin did not threaten rockets in a conversation with Boris Johnson, the words of the former British prime minister about threats from the Russian president are a “conscious or unconscious” lie, said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Thus, he commented on the Putin vs the West documentary, in which Johnson spoke about a conversation with the President of the Russian Federation in February last year, before the start of the special operation, RBC reports. According to the British ex-premier, Putin “at some point kind of threatened and said: ‘Boris, I don’t want to hurt you, but with a rocket it will only take a minute,’ or something like that.”
“What Johnson said is not true. More precisely, this is a lie, ”Peskov said. “Or it was an unconscious lie, and in fact he did not understand what President Putin was talking to him about. Then it becomes uncomfortable for the interlocutor of our president, ”added the Kremlin spokesman.
“There were no missile threats. Speaking about the challenges to the security of the Russian Federation, Putin noted that in the event of Ukraine joining NATO, the potential deployment of NATO or American missiles at our borders would mean that any missile would reach Moscow in a matter of minutes, ”the presidential press secretary emphasized.
