Draw defines derby between Barcelona and Real Madrid in Copa del Rey semi-final

The draw for the semifinal matches of the Spanish King’s Cup took place on Monday morning. The event then defined the confrontation between Real Madrid e Barcelona for a place in the final of the tournament. The ranking will be defined in round trip matches.

The games, by the way, already have defined periods. The first clash will take place between February 28th and March 2nd, at the Santiago Bernabéu, while the second will take place between April 4th and 6th, at the Camp Nou. The big decision is scheduled for May 6th.

On the other side of the bracket, Athletic Bilbao, the second most champions of the Copa del Rey with 23 titles, face Osasuna, who are looking for their first title – the second final – in their history. The Bilbao club play the return match at home.

The path of Barcelona and Real Madrid

Biggest winner of the competition with 31 trophies, Barcelona eliminated Real Sociedad in the quarterfinals by winning 1-0 at Camp Nou. In the previous phases, it passed through Intercity and Ceuta, both from the third division.

Third on the list of champions, with 19 victories, Real Madrid overcame Atlético de Madrid, in the classic in the Spanish capital, in the previous stage, by 3-1, at the Santiago Bernabéu. Before, it beat Cacereño, from the fourth division, and Villarreal.
