The insides of the new MacBook Pro showed on video

iFixit specialists evaluated the maintainability of new Apple computers. The corresponding video is available on the company’s YouTube channel.

As part of the video, enthusiasts studying gadget devices disassembled the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and also showed their insides on the video. According to the authors, in the course of studying the design of computers, they relied on official guidance from Apple. Based on the results of testing, experts rated the maintainability of the MacBook Pro at 5 out of 10 points.

The authors noted that the updated devices are similar in design to the 2021 MacBook Pro models. At the same time, the repair and upgrade of computers can still be complicated by the fact that most of the device components are soldered to the motherboard. In this regard, for example, after buying a device, it is impossible to update the RAM or SSD drive. According to the authors, Macs still have serious maintainability issues.

iFixit experts also noted that Apple has released a fairly detailed MacBook Pro repair manual – the gadget maintenance process is described on 162 pages.

Earlier, 9to5mac journalists found out that new Apple computers are equipped with slower SSD drives than previous generation models. The decrease in speed is due to the fact that the American company has switched to larger NAND memory modules.
