In Emelec stadium, Blu was inaugurated, an entertainment area as a ‘rooftop-restaurant’

Nassib Neme, president of Club Sport Emelec, and Pío Montúfar, main investor in the project, opened this Monday, November 8 Blu, a fun area by way of rooftop-restaurant located in the George Capwell Stadium, owned by Emelec.

Blu has four levels in the tower located at the intersection of Quito Avenue and San Martín Street: the first three will be mezzanine and the last one a terrace, the main attraction of the project by showing a panoramic view of the city of Guayaquil.

“Today there are few places like this and this would be the first project of a rooftop (rooftop) in height in a football stadium ”, said Montúfar in statements to EL UNIVERSO during the ceremony, highlighting that that was the main reason to invest in this innovative idea that was born of two purposes.

“First we think of a tourist spot and then we think of a little more fun for the general public. Then we decided to unite both things ”and that’s how Blu was born, declared Montúfar.

The development of the project started in 2019 and the completion of the work was scheduled for June 2020. But the coronavirus pandemic delayed the plans and after two years it opens its doors to the general public.

The rooftop-restaurant, who had a cost about a million dollars, between works and operations, will offer variety in your meals and cocktails in its different environments, in order to promote a high quality service.

“Most of the things that we are going to have here are innovative products that are not going to be found elsewhere and that are going to be tested,” said Gastón Pogoda, project operator and investment partner, at the ceremony.

What’s more, will have a parking service exclusively for customers who come to Blu, which will be guarded by guards, in order to protect the safety of the attendees.

With the project already underway, in Emelec the flow of people is expected to increase beyond 80 that they receive weekly in the Capwell, as a result of the tourist tours that they carry out.

This was stated by Ivonne Tufiño, manager of marketing of the club, who also detailed that the objective of this project is create “a multipurpose venue” thinking “beyond sports”, where people can find a more fun place and generate more tourism apart from football.

And is that Blu will not be open only when Emelec plays, but also the other days, in order to create a new entertainment sector within the city regardless of the affinity of the fans, since it is not exclusively for Emelec members.

“The development of the project will be very useful not only for the Emelec fans, but also for the citizens of Guayaquil”, declared Neme at the inauguration.

Blu will be available for any type of person looking for a social environment where they can enjoy food, cocktails and a full view of Guayaquil, in addition to the Emelec playing field.
