The South American qualifying calendar for the Qatar 2022 World Cup returns, this time with a double date that will be played on Thursday 11, Friday 12 and Tuesday 16 November and that will be the last to be developed in 2021.
By Thursday, Ecuador and Venezuela will be the first teams to open on date 13, in a match to be played at the Rodrigo Paz Delgado stadium. They will play Paraguay vs. chili, in the Defensores del Chaco; Brazil vs. Colombia, at the Arena de Sao Paulo; and finally Peru vs. Bolivia, at the National Stadium of Peru.
Date 13 will end on Friday, with the Rio de la Plata classic among Uruguay and Argentina, to be played at the Champion of the Century stadium.
Already on Tuesday the date 14, the last corresponding to the year 2021. On this occasion, the five games will be played, the first is Bolivia vs. Uruguay in peace. Then they will play Venezuela vs. Peru, in the Olympic stadium of the Central University; Colombia vs. Paraguay, in the Metropolitan Stadium; Argentina vs. Brazil, San Juan del Bicentenario Stadium; and finally Chile vs. Ecuador, at the San Carlos de Apoquino Stadium.
With Brazil virtually classified and with Argentina very close to the World Cup, the fight will be between the teams that are from the beginning. third to ninth place in the classification, in which there are only six point difference.
Ecuador is third with 17 points, one more than Colombia and Uruguay, fourth and fifth in the classification. La Tri and the coffee growers would be directly accessing the World Cup, while La Celeste would go to the playoffs. But very closely are Chile (13), Bolivia (12), Paraguay (12) and Peru (11).
After the double date, the South American tie will be played again on January 27 and February 1, with the date 15 and 16, respectively.
