Slutskaya advised men performing in rhythmic gymnastics not to be vulgar
Two-time world figure skating champion Irina Slutskaya gave advice to men who want to compete in rhythmic gymnastics. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“Come out as a man and do manly exercises. Don’t pretend to be a grandmother. Don’t be vulgar. Why, if this is men’s rhythmic gymnastics, then you have to go out in a leotard with rhinestones and run with a ribbon? Slutskaya said.
With similar advice, the athlete turned to men who compete in synchronized swimming. “Yes, speak up, but don’t paint your eyes, don’t gel your hair. You don’t have to wear the same swimsuits, ”added the skater.
In July 2021, Tatyana Navka, Olympic champion in ice dancing, spoke about her attitude to men’s rhythmic gymnastics. She stated that rhythmic gymnastics is a wonderful female sport, and there is no place for men in it. In her opinion, “such trends will lead Western society to a dead end.”
